SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS (SOS)
RAISED $611,000 AT LOCAL
HIGH SCHOOLS IN 2008
$6.5 Million has been Raised for Local High Schools Since the Program's Inception in 1993.
The Century Club’s Support Our Schools program (SOS) is proud to be recognized as “the best fundraiser for San Diego area high schools.”

Support Our Schools (SOS), formerly known as the highly successful Save Our Sports campaign, raised $611,000 for local schools. This program was broadened in 2005 to include all extracurricular activities at high schools. Previously, the program specifi cally targeted only sports teams on campus.
Over the past 15 years, the SOS program has raised nearly $6.5 million. The 2008 campaign engaged 90 San Diego area schools.
The leading schools in generating funds in 2008 were Cathedral Catholic High School ($78,195), Tesoro High School ($62,985), Poway High School ($41,415), Rancho Bernardo High School ($29,565) and Mt. Carmel High School ($26,220).
The idea behind the SOS program is simple. Local high schools and middle schools sell specially discounted any day tickets for $17.00 to The Century Club of San Diego Invitational through their booster clubs, athletic departments and oncampus clubs, and they keep 90% of their sales.
“The SOS program has been a valuable asset
for our local schools.”
“U.S. Bank is committed to supporting San Diego and all of the communities throughout the country where we operate,” noted John Zygowicz, Market President for U.S. Bank in San Diego. “Schools are a vital part of any community and we are proud to continue our affi liation with this most unique fundraising program for the fi fth consecutive year. With schools seeing signifi cant budget cuts around the state, we are proud to do our part in helping San Diego high schools fund essential extracurricular activities for the kids.”
“The SOS program has been a valuable asset for our local schools and the Century Club is honored that it can help fund so many activities for our youth,” said Bronson Jacoway, 2009 President of the Century Club. “This program has taken off and continues to gain strength each year. It not only increases the exposure of The Century Club of San Diego Invitational but it ultimately allows the kids of our community the opportunity to stay involved in school events.”
